Mistake # 1. Not communicating clearly
One way you can make sure you’re clear with your employees about what they need to accomplish at work is by writing down a set of goals. This can be done by simply asking the following questions.
What are we trying to accomplish? Why is this important to us? What does our success look like in the long term?
Mistake # 2. Don’t have proper training program
In my current company, we have a good training program for new starters. They have training programs for top management as well. This was because our senior leadership understands the importance of training. During the training period, they teach the trainees how to use the system and what are the main steps for them to understand.
Make sure that the training program you offer has a clear objective. It should be able to answer the question “What am I going to get from this?” For example, let’s say your training program is about using a certain program. Well, you need to provide the answers to these questions:
“What will I get from knowing this program?”
“How can this program help me with the tasks I perform most?
It is really important to create and maintain a good working environment for employees. A good training program will give you the opportunity to build a good working relationship with your employees.
Take care of your employees when they have problems or when they need help. Help your employees so that they can be better employees for the company.
Mistake # 3. Work environment not friendly
I have heard people say that the work environment was a little unfriendly. In some instances, this may be true, but if it were that way, then most people would leave their jobs, right? If the work environment is toxic, you will have the highest turnover. Fix this, before you want to fix anything else.
Mistake # 4. Supervisors don’t have time to follow through
People are motivated when they feel appreciated. Unappreciated people tend to avoid projects and jobs. They have low morale and burn out quickly. Appreciation helps people feel needed and valued. Appreciation also increases the value of an employee to their employer.
Provide feedback that’s specific and focused on what you see in that person’s work. For example, “I noticed that you took longer than usual to finish the project. I appreciate that it was important to you”. Positive mindset for achievements is the key, work to develop inspirational leadership qualities.

Most people are motivated by money. You can get paid for doing almost anything. But there is no reason to work hard if you’re not going to get paid for it. That’s why we have to come up with some other incentives. You need something more than money to make people want to do a job.
Mistake # 7. Managers don’t walk the talk
One of the biggest problems with any workplace is bad management. Not only do employees suffer when they have a poor work environment, but their performance suffers too. This is particularly true for customer service employees. They need to be inspired to perform their best every day. If they don’t feel valued and respected by their manager, they won’t perform their best.
Mistake # 8. Bad behaviors are accepted
The workplace is the arena where we work, live, and learn. It is the social environment that influences us. A lot of people think about their career as a job. But, in reality, it is much more than that. It shapes our self-image, our values, and even our views of self-worth. It is where we spend 8 hours every day. The workplace is an important place to live out our beliefs. It’s one of the most important places that we will encounter in our lifetime.
